For Adults-beginner and intermediate
Choose your subject, Choose your medium with individual instruction and guidance.
Finish pieces that are still pending, learn a new medium, learn techniques in pastels or oils, learn tips on drawing, it's all up to you since each student will be individually instructed. The best part is that everyone can share their experiences with each other! Critiques offered as well. All levels are welcome - Beginner to Advanced. Even if you have never done art before and are looking for a new hobby. Supplies will be discussed when you sign up as per your individual needs. Easels will be available. Maximum of 7 students. Call for Class Closings due to inclement weather.
Cost: $30.00

Portrait and Figure Workshop with Pastels

For Adults-beginner and intermediate
Study the structure of the face, head, figure, hands or feet. Instructor will demonstrate the breakdown of the body parts, and students will then do studies through gestures and drawings with charcoal in black and white or in color with the use of pastels. Pastel techniques will be offered during the building process if student chooses to work in color. Supplies to bring are Vine charcoal, charcoal pencils- light , medium, dark and white, kneaded eraser, drawing pad size 18 x 24 (or smaller if doing small studies, MiTientis paper-toned grey-optional, and a small soft pastel set (no oil pastels).
Cost: $50.00; Model fee separate ($10.00 or less per student)

For Teens
With the use of a model, students will learn how to draw the figure with instructional breakdown of the human form and then practice with gestures. The model will start off in black tights and body suit to allow a clear understanding of the structure of the figure, and then will add skirts and scarves so the instructor can demonstrate and breakdown the construction of the flow of a garment. Students will then practice with loose gestures the flow of the garment. Medium of choice welcomed, preferably a dry medium. We will work in color or black and white.
